Obituary

BERTHA ALLEN

ADA-Services for Bertha Mae Allen, 79, Ada, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Bill Fraizer and Vern Wilson, Jr. officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen died Friday, March 12, 2010, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1930, to Tom and Maggie Grayson Miller at Ada, Oklahoma. She was a housekeeper at Carl Albert Indian Hospital and had volunteered with the Salvation Army, as a Home League member and with the League of Mercy, and with the Chickasaw Nation elder programs and Chickasaw Cats.

She and John Allen were married Jan. 6, 1956 at Gainesville, Texas. He died April 15, 1987.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Wilson, Ardmore, Margaret Foley and husband William, Ada, Cindy Rainwater and husband Jerry, Ada, and Lisa Allen, Ada; one brother, Claude Miller, Ada; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Jerry Arlene Allen; two sisters, Ruby Hilton and Lorene Miller; a brother, Jimmy Miller; a granddaughter, Christal Diane Foley; and a nephew, John Hilton.

Bearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Vern Wilson Jr., Johnny Wilson, Stacy Foley, Kenneth Foley, Steven Foley, Jimmie Foley, Tanner Gillispie and Tyler Gillispie,
