Services for Bernice Shiplet, 92, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Rev. John Haynes, Harold Ware and Rev. Pat Kilby will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening, at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shiplet died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home. She was born January 26, 1920, Drumwright, Oklahoma to Oscar and Nettie Gilmore Fugate. She attended grade school at Big Pond, Oklahoma and graduated from Depew High School, Depew, Oklahoma.
She married Clarence Raymond Shiplet on September 4, 1938 at Depew, Oklahoma. They were married almost 63 years. Before coming to Ada in 1953, she lived in Clovis, New Mexico where she and her husband managed the B.F. Goodrich Store. They owned Shiplet Furniture, Tire and Appliance from 1964 to 1986 in Ada.
Mrs. Shiplet was a member of the First Baptist Church for 59 years and was also a 50 year member of the Ada Chapter #78 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a homemaker and excellent seamstress.
Survivors include three daughters, Paula Stafford and husband Danny, Sherry Barnes and husband Stanley, and Debbie Waddell and husband Bob, all of Ada; a brother, Kenneth Fugate, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Lori Lundgaard and husband Josh of South Carolina, Marni Money and husband Preveen of Phoenix, Arizona, Lena Dehart of Ada, Brad Stafford and wife Kim of Ada, Kellye Reers and husband Brian of Estero, Florida, Michael Barnes and wife Leah of Ada, Amy Baker and husband John of Ada, Brittany Clay and husband Eric of Austin, Texas, Preston Hoover and wife Bonnie of Seattle, Washington, Chris Hoover and fiancé Meagan Roulston of Ada, Shawn Waddell and wife Tessa of Ft. Hood, Texas and Jourdan Waddell of Ada; 11 great-grandchildren, Connor and Ethan Lundgaard, Lola and Ginger Money, McKinlee and Case Stafford, Grayson, Tyler and Dillon Reers, Cameron, Carson and Cohen Clay, Devon an Destiny Baker, Kendall and Cooper Barnes and Destiny Dehart; many nieces and nephews and life long friend, Marion Gay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 2001; two sons, Kenneth Raymond Shiplet and Donald Ray Shiplet.
