Bernice Hallum Meek Ogg

Graveside services for Bernice Hallum Meek Ogg, 96, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Alex Cemetery.

Mrs. Ogg died Sunday, May 17, 2020 at a local nursing home.  She was born September 28, 1923 near Maud to W. D. and Etoil Daugherty Hallum.  She graduated from Byng High School and East Central University.

She married Robert Leslie Meek in 1946.  He preceded her in death in 1970.  She later married D. F. Ogg in 1980.  He preceded her in death in 2002.  Mrs. Ogg taught school in Fox, Hollister, Madill, Pleasant Grove near Seminole, and Alex School.

Survivors include a son, Robert Meek and wife Debbie of Ada; step-son, Danny Ogg; two sisters, Estelle Waters of Gloucester, MA and Reba Jefferies of Quitman, TX; a brother, Dr. Glen D. Hallum of Edmond; five grandchildren, Erin Wagner, Kyle Johnston, Corey Meek, Kevin Jones and Laura Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Reece, Archer, Maddox Meek and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Frances Meek Johnston; two brothers, Virgil Hallum and Cecil Hallum; and one sister, Alice Landrith.
