DON WILLIAMSON

MESQUITE, TEXAS-Services for Ben Don Williamson, 55, Mesquite, Texas, formerly of Ada are 11:00 a.m Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Walter Whitney and Elder Charles Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Grayson Cemetery near Konawa. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Williamson died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home. He was born October 31, 1954 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to J. C. and Clemateen Ransom Williamson. At an early age, the family moved to Ada. He graduated from Byng High School in 1973. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served for three years until he was injured.

He married Annetta Wright. Mr. Williamson moved to Dallas, TX and worked as a health care provider until his health failed. He was a member of Philemon Baptist Church and had been baptized by Dr. C. R. Hill and remained actively involved in the church.

Survivors include his mother, Clemateen Williamson, Ada; a son, Broyce Dean Williamson, Paris, Texas; two brothers, James Williamson, Sacramento, CA and Alvin Williamson, Dallas, TX; two sisters, Patricia Rushing, Dallas, TX, and Dr. Vivian Whitney and her husband Rev. Walter Whitney, Ada; seven nieces, Jacquelyn Williamson, Sacramento, CA, Cindy Gimigeme, Dallas, TX, Dr. Ashanti Turner, Cedar Hill, TX, Shawn Rushing, Dallas, TX, Akilah Christian, Ada, Hope Williamson, Desoto, TX, and Aisha Johnson, Houston, TX; two nephews, R. C. McKinney and Kelvin Williamson, both of Dallas, TX; a special friend of 19 years, Brenda Pruitt, her mother, Margaret Bolts and sons, Kendrick Givens and Christopher Pruitt, Mesquite, TX; a sponsor and friend, Don Johnson, Bedford, TX, and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Williamson, brother, Weldon Aaron Gray, and nephew Cliff Williamson.

Bearers will be Kirk Blue, Richard Bullard, Terry Brown, Mike Sparks, Paul Watson, and John Terry Gillespie. Flower bearers will be Sharon Blue, Rosetta Guetto, Kim Jones, Maggie Lucky, LaDonna Watson, LaNada Watson and Shelia King.
