BAXTER GRAY
STRATFORD-Services for Baxter Gray, 75, Stratford, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Lewis Perry will officiate. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery in Stratford.
Mr. Gray died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at an Ada hospital. He was born July 8, 1932 at Stratford, Oklahoma to James Barney and Myrtle Mercer Gray.
He married Patsy Suit on April 8, 1953. Mr. Gray operated Baxter Gray Farm Equipment Company for 35 years. He was still active as a farmer and rancher. Mr. Gray was a member of the American Legion Post #191 of Stratford and had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Gray, of the home; one daughter, Connie Peek and husband Peter, Georgetown, Texas; three granddaughters, Sabrina Newberry and husband Christopher, Kendra Jimison and husband Robert, and Alicia Peek; four brothers, Gus J. Gray, Joe Gray, Jake Gray and G. R. Gray, all of Stratford; one sister, Bessie Swallow and husband Ronnie, Stratford; and a host of friends.
Bearers will be Johnny Mann, Ray Gray, James Gray, Gary Burnett, Jeff Cosby, and Gerald Parkhurst. Honorary bearers will be R. B. Archer and Maurice Willis.
