DR. BARBARA LEHMAN STUBBS
ADA-Services for Dr. Barbara Jean Lehman Stubbs, 67, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church, Rev. Gary Brandt will officiate. A Committal Service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Trice Hill Cemetery, at Northeast 50th and Coltrane Road in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Lehman died Monday, March 19, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born August 9, 1944 in Mansura, Louisiana to Kermit W. and Frances Ravere Lehman. She attended Edwards Grade school in Oklahoma City and graduated from Douglas High School in Oklahoma City. She attended Langston University and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts. She received a Master's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a PhD at the University of Oklahoma.
She married Willie Stubbs on August 2, 1997. Dr. Lehman taught at Mississippi State University and the University of Oklahoma. She was a Professor Emeritus of Education at East Central University in Ada. Dr. Lehman was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and a member and past president of C.A.S.A. (Court Appointed Special Advocate).
Survivors include her husband, Willie Stubbs, of the home; a son, Joel Webber and his wife Daphne of Austin, TX; two brothers, Paul Lehman of Edmond, OK, and James W. Lehman and his wife JoAnn of Austin, TX; a sister, Linda Lehman Dick and her husband Curtis of Las Vegas, NV; and two grandchildren, Miles and Jaiden Webber.
