Services for Barbara Anne Cannon, 89, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, at Southwest church of Christ; Mr. Brian Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Cannon passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Ada. She was born January 12, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to John and Alberta Dewald Krohn.
On June 20, 1963, she married Charles William Cannon in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2024.
She will be remembered for the love and joy she brought into the lives of so many. She had a special love for watching birds, tending to her garden, and welcoming others into her home. Hospitality came naturally to her, and her home was often a place where family and friends could gather, share a meal, and enjoy one another’s company. She especially loved to laugh and had a way of making those around her feel comfortable, loved, and at home.
Her greatest earthly treasures were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with them and delighted in watching her family grow.
Faith was at the center of her life. A lifelong member of the church of Christ, she faithfully served her Lord and others. She especially enjoyed teaching Bible stories and playing Bible games with the children who rode the bus through the Joy Bus Program, sharing her love of God and His Word.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, hospitality, and love that will continue through the generations she leaves behind. Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends are grateful for the many years, memories, and moments of joy they were blessed to share with her.
Survivors include her son, Paul Cannon and wife, Lisa, of Boyd, TX; two daughters, Karen Lewis and husband, Mont, of Knoxville, TN, and Diana Hatton and husband, Greg, of Ada; one brother, John Krohn, of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Dottie Neuhaus, of Cincinnati, OH, and Jenny Amyx and husband, Frank, of Rockdale, TX; grandchildren, Garett Hatton, Lindsay Jones, Griffin Lewis, Caroline Lewis, Austin Cannon, Alexis Cannon, and Alivia Cannon; and five great-grandchildren, Grayson Hatton, Landry Hatton, Jaxson Jones, Sadie Jones and Grantham Hatton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cannon and her parents.
Bearers are Garett Hatton, Grayson Hatton, Tyler Jones, Griffin Lewis, Kyle Wilson, and Southern Cates. Honorary bearer will be Greg Hatton.
