Obituary

Barbara Bynum

Memorial services for Barbara Lea Bynum, 78, of Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Stonewall Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Tony Sexton will officiate.

Mrs. Bynum died Sunday, October 4, 2026, at a local hospital. She was born, August 31, 1948, in Ada, Oklahoma to Odis and Velma Lea Keeling Bishop.

She married Frank Bynum, Jr. on March 6, 1966, in Tishomingo, OK. She was a homemaker, affiliated with the Free Will Baptist faith, and member of American Legion #72, where served as president, and was active with the historical society.

Barbara Bynum went home to be with Jesus, leaving behind a family forever shaped by her love. Known lovingly as “Grandma” and “Mom” she was a best friend, storyteller, and constant source of comfort.

Her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed and loved through her cooking, advice, laughter, and hugs. She taught her family the meaning of kindness and belonging.

After Papa passed away, she met Cliff whose love and companionship helped her through her sadness and brought renewed joy into her life. Together, they found a meaningful partnership.

While her loved ones will deeply miss her, they find peace in knowing she is reunited with Papa. Her love lives on in the memories they cherish and the smiles and laughs they carry forward, until we meet again, we love you best.

Survivors include her partner, Cliffton Ellis; son, Jimmy Bynum; daughter, Angela Foster; grandchildren, Bret Bynum, Paige Duke, Dylan Duke, Clayton Bynum, Sierra O’Brien, Destine Gee, Faith Eminger, Reagan Foster, Reese Foster, Easton Foster, and Josie Bunch; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Bynum, Jr.; and son, Eddie Bynum.
