Barbara Byers

Services for Barbara Jean Byers, 86, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2025 at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Mike Calhoun will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Byers died Thursday, March 27, 2025 at a local assisted living center. She was born April 21, 1938 to J. W. and Pearline Monette Cole Standifer.

She married Marvin Lee Byers on May 25, 1956 in Hickory, he preceded her in death in 2018.  Mrs. Byers was employed with Valley View Hospital, over 35 years, in the Physical Therapy Dept. until her retirement.  She was a longtime member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Ellison of Ada; son, Mike Byers and wife Kristi of Ada; three grandchildren, Kasey Ellison and husband Frankie, Kara Foran and husband Jacob and Mark Byers and wife Kalley Jo; four great-grandchildren, Bryce Anderson, Jax Foran, Mason Lee Byers and Hillary Jo Byers; two brothers, Jim Standifer, Sulphur, OK and Bill Standifer and wife Rhonda, Lone Grove, OK; one sister, Joyce South, Springer, OK; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Byers; and parents.

Bearers will be Jimmy South, Jerry South, Jay Standifer, Jody Standifer, Colin Gentry and Mark Byers.
