AUGUSTA BENNETT
WEWOKA-Services for Augusta Lee Bennett, 91, Wewoka, formerly of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hammond Heights Church of Christ, Rudy Doss will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at a Holdenville hospital. He was born March 11, 1920 in Colbert, Oklahoma. He attended Colbert, Oklahoma schools.
Mr. Bennett was a bus driver for the Byng School system until his retirement. He was a member of Hammond Heights Church of Christ and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, LaCresha Nelson, Wewoka; grandchildren he reared, Daysha Bennett and Precious Bennett; a step-daughter, Sue Ann Epperson, Wewoka; two brothers, David James and his wife Shirley of Texas, and Frank James, Oklahoma City; and a longtime friend and companion, Linda Prince, Ada.
