Graveside services for Aubrey "Sam" Archer, Jr., 87, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery, Linda Stansbury will officiate. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Archer passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his home. He was born December 24, 1930 at Tupelo to Aubrey and Julia Mae Isom Archer. He attended Tupelo schools, graduated with an Associate's Degree from Murray State College and received a Business Degree from East Central University.

Mr. Archer owned and operated Ada Block Company from 1971 to present. He had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include a sister, Wanda Lee Shelton of Lawton; a close friend, Terry Glance of Ada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Juanita Cogburn, Vera Shockey, Bertie Brown, Lula Belle Archer and Marie Archer; and a brother, R. W. "Sonny" Archer.
