Ashlyn passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, June 6, 2024 in Oklahoma City, having just celebrated her 19th birthday at Taco Factory in Ada. Ashlyn always cherished holidays and gatherings with friends and family.
Born in Ada, OK at Valley View on May 10th, 2005, to Jennifer Merritt and Eric Moiser. Ashlyn was a sweet, innocent, quiet and compassionate soul. She was an active member of the Byng Public School Jr. and High School Choir, sharing her love of music with her peers. Ashlyn adored all holidays. She found joy in decorating the Christmas tree, relished the festivities of Halloween, and loved New Year's Eve, often setting up a buffet with her mom and playing board games and card games with family. While she didn't enjoy school, she persevered and earned her high school diploma, graduating from Byng High School in 2023. Ashlyn loved attending alternative rock concerts and dreamed of a career in the culinary arts. She worked part-time as a kitchen team member at Chick-fil-A for three years, honing her cooking skills.
In addition to her love for cooking, especially beef and broccoli stir fry, Ashlyn had a wide range of interests. She was an avid anime fan and had a deep fascination with astrology. Antiquing with her Grandpa Mike in Pontotoc County was a cherished pastime. She also loved collecting trinkets, gems, and snacks and had a passion for art. Ashlyn was an enthusiastic reader, enjoying series like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.
Ashlyn is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Mary Merritt, and her Grandma Lorrie Prince. She is survived by her parents, Jennifer Merritt, and Chris Smith, and her sister, Sabella Smith of Byng, OK. She is also survived by her parents, Eric and Melissa Moiser, along with her siblings, Trinity Whitehead, Colton Moiser and Kasch Moiser of Ada, OK.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Billy Moiser will officiate. Ashlyn will be remembered for her loving spirit.
