ARTHUR WHITE, SR.
ROFF-Services for Arthur Ray White, Sr., 82, Roff, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gene Teel will officiate. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.
Mr. White died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his home. He was born September 9, 1928 in Texas City, Texas to Fielden J. White Sr. and Drewy Romine White. He graduated from Texas City High School in 1947.
He married Retha Gaither on November 2, 1952 at the Roff United Methodist Church. Mr. White was employed with the Texas City Water Department for 18 years and moved to Roff in 1970 from Texas City, TX. He was employed with Evergreen Mills and retired in 1990. Mr. White was active in the church, a member of the American Legion Post #72 in Ada, and had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Retha White, of the home; a son, Arthur R. White, Jr., of the home; a sister, Linda Cheek, Texas City, TX; and a cousin, Milford Chisum, Yukon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy and Doris White; a brother, Fielden White, Jr.; nephew, Keith; and niece, Judy.
