Obituary

ALLEN-Graveside services for Arthur Clyde Payne, 97, of Allen, are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Amber Cemetery in Amber, Oklahoma. Rev. Donna Gustin will officiate.
Mr. Payne died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at an Allen nursing home. He was born April 18, 1916 at Blanchard, Oklahoma to Ulysses Sherman and Annie Graham Payne.
He married Vivian Noreen Jones on February 6, 1937 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on September 24, 1992. Mr. Payne was an assembly line worker for International Harvester Corp. and he was also a farmer. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II from January 18, 1944 until being honorably discharged on August 16, 1945 as a Private First Class.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Edward Payne and his wife Beverly of Gerty and Gary Payne and wife Reva of Allen; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three sisters, Pauline Miller, Yukon, Betty Ann Manning, Douglasville, GA, and Juanita Bedenbaugh, Charleston, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brother and sisters, Edna Farris, U. S. Payne, Jr., Leslie Payne, Buddy Payne and Bill Payne.
