ANTHONY BRIAN YEPA
DAVIS-Graveside services for Anthony Brian Yepa, 43, of Davis, are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Atkins Family Cemetery, Rev. David Atkins and Mr. John C. Atkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Yepa died April 27, 2014, at a hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born February 3, 1971 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Candido Kemp and Loretta Jane Atkins Yepa. He graduated from Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Native American Studies from Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.
Mr. Yepa was employed with the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur.
Survivors include his parents, Kemp and Rita Yepa of Jemez Pueblo, NM; two sisters, Yvette Francine Morrison and her husband Jay of Oklahoma City, OK, and Danielle Elizabeth Gunderson and her husband Ron of Albuquerque, NM; two nieces, Claire Gunderson and Hailey Gunderson; and many other special cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jackson and Rosie Atkins; his paternal grandparents, Pablo and Lupe Yepa; his aunts, Gloria Atkins, Cordelia Greenwood, and Felicita Sanchez; two uncles, Eugene Atkins and Jimmy Yepa; a great aunt, Hattie Harjo; and two cousins, John Keith Atkins and Robert Lindsey Atkins.
Bearers will be Stanton Atkins, Jay Morrison, Ron Gunderson, Jay Nunley, Jack Walcott, and Carey Frazier.
