ANTHONY WHELCHEL
CONNERVILLE-Services for Anthony Ray Whelchel, 43, of Connerville are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tony Poe will officiate. Burial will follow at the Connerville Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Whelchel died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at a Norman hospital. He was born February 11, 1969 at Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Billy A. and Imogene Gale Hamilton Whelchel. He lived in the Connerville area all his life and graduated from McLish High School.
Mr. Whelchel was a carpenter and a member of Temple of God Church in Connerville. He served in the U. S. Army. He was activated with the National Guard and served from March 27, 1986 until being discharged on September 3, 1987.
Survivors include his two daughters, Brittany Whelchel of Connerville and Jessica Whelchel of Ada; two sons, Blake Whelchel of Stonewall and Lance Whelchel of Madill; a step-son, Anthony Leader of Madill; his parents, Billy A. and Imogene Gale Whelchel of Connerville; three grandchildren, Jaxton Davis, Jonavon Davis and Kaden Postoak.
Bearers will be Clint Lane, Gary Davis, Blake Whelchel, Chris Snell, Tony Walker and David Timmons.
