ANN KEY
ADA-Services for Annie Ruth "Ann" Hendrix Key, 89, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will follow at Antlers Cemetery.
Mrs. Key died Monday, April 4, 2011 at her home. She was born March 18, 1922 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Lewis Harvey and Era Mae Shrode Hendrix. She graduated from high school in Antlers, Oklahoma in 1940, and from Murray State College in Tishomingo in 1942.
She married R. J. (Joe) Key on July 25, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1977. Mrs. Key was a homemaker until her youngest child began school in 1962. She then earned her certification as an Accredited Records Technician in Medical Records while working at Johnston County Memorial Hospital in Tishomingo. She worked in hospitals in Tishomingo, Madill, Marietta and Ada until her retirement.
She moved to Ada after her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Presbyterian Church in Tishomingo.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheilla Brashier and her husband Brian, Ada; three sons, Danny Key and his wife Michelle, Ada, Ted Key and his wife Debbie, Fairfax, VA, and Randy Key and his wife Karen, Fittstown; her grandchildren, Shann Brashier, Cyndie Key, Chad Key, Kyle Key, Brealyn Brashier, Stephen Key, Michael Key, Megan Scott, Jordan Scott and Jessica Scott; her great grandchildren, Maci Neal, Brittney Key and Ella Jane Key; a sister-in-law, June Hendrix; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Joe David Key; sisters, Thelma Barbee of Ada; and brothers, Stacy Hendrix, Billy Sam Hendrix and Loyd Hendrix.
Bearers will be her grandsons, Chad Key, Kyle Key, Stephen Key and Michael Key.
