Obituary

Memorial services for Anna “Sam” Haley-Dooley, 57, of Tecumseh, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Oklahoma, with Randall Christy officiating.

Sam passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Integris Baptist Medical Hospital in Oklahoma City, surrounded by love. She was born on April 8, 1969, in Integris Baptist Medical Hospital to Jim and Peggy Haley.

Sam graduated from Byng High School in 1987 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education and Special Education. She devoted 33 years of her life to education, impacting countless students and families before her recent retirement. She was deeply hardworking and stubborn to the bone—in the very best way.

In 2004, she married the love of her life, Frank Dooley, in Oklahoma City. She was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Elizabeth Canaday and Kali Dooley. Sam was especially proud of Elizabeth for earning her cosmetology degree and preparing for her upcoming wedding, and of Kali, who is set to graduate from Tecumseh High School and begin her college journey. She is also survived by her mother, Peggy Haley; one brother, Jack Haley and wife, Stacey; one aunt, Kay Haley; and two uncles, Joe Williams and wife, Doris, and Kirby Williams and wife, Mary Sue.

Sam was preceded in death by her father, James Haley.

After retiring, Sam found joy in spending time on her farm, at the lake and pursuing her passion for crafting. She was a gifted crafter who loved sharing her creations with others. She also had a deep love for her cows, and these simple pleasures brought her true joy and happiness.

When Sam loved, she loved fiercely, and when she believed in something or someone, she never gave up. That strength carried her through life and became one of the many ways she cared for those around her.

Sam will always be remembered for the deep love she had for her family, her warm spirit, and the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to meet her. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
