Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Anita Jo Bolin, 62, of Ada, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 19, 2024, by Rev. Cory Thompson and Rev. Jarrod Presley at Ada First Free Will Baptist Church. The burial service will follow at Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Criswell Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Anita was born on June 6, 1961, in Ada to Joe and Roberta Escue Summers and passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, peacefully in her home.

She married the love of her life, Frankie Bolin, on June 15, 1979. Soon after, she welcomed her two sons into the world and took on the role of being Mom. Brandon and Derek were her pride and joy, and she loved being a second Mom to their many friends.

Anita worked much of her career at the Oklahoma Blood Institute where she retired as the Administrator of Donor Services to take on the role of her life, Memaw. She loved nothing more than being Memaw to her grandkids and Aunt Didi to her nieces, nephews, and their kids. She showed her love by hosting family events, making cakes and cheesecakes for numerous birthdays, baking cookies and treats for each of their sports teams, or just being present in their lives wherever their interests took them.

Anita had the sweetest giving spirit that was always quick to help anyone that might be in need. She was always the first to volunteer to cook a meal for someone or feed the masses with elegance and grace. She hosted numerous wedding showers and baby showers and had a gift for making an event come to life with so much thought put into the smallest of details. Being musically gifted, she shared her passion as the church pianist for 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Frankie; two sons, Brandon Bolin and his wife, Stacey, and Derek Bolin, and his wife, Joy; her parents, Joe and Roberta Summers; one sister, Audrey Newport and her husband, Bob; five grandchildren, Ava Bolin, Jessi Bolin, Landon Bolin, Eli Bolin, and Ezra Bolin; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bearers are Joey Morrow, Scott Vandeveer, Ryan Estes, Brett Butner, Gaylon Summers, and Garland Summers.
