Andy Hood

Services for Wilber Andrew "Andy" Hood, 87, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Mr. Josh Tatum will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at Criswell Funeral Home

Andy passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his home.  He was born February 10, 1938, in Oklahoma City, OK to Wilber Hood and Lois Enders Hood.

Andy attended school in OKC.  He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1956, and from the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, in 1960.  He was employed by General Electric Company, in Schenectady, NY, and Cincinnati, Ohio, Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Company in Evansville, Indiana, the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahoma and Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company, in Harrah, Oklahoma and Konawa, Oklahoma.  He married Joann Bethea, on September 6, 1960, in Schenectady, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Joann, and their two children, Donna Moates and husband Brett, Sapulpa, OK, and David Hood, and wife Jennifer, Evergreen, Colorado.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kimmie Hood Tatum, Amanda Wooten Hamby, Katherine Hood, Julianna Hood, Tiffany Dease, Philip Vogt, Brennan Moates, and Terrance Moates; grandsons-in-law, Josh Tatum and Travis Hamby; great granddaughter, Ava Hamby; daughter-in-law, Katherine Unbewest of Ada; brother-in-law, Don Bethea and wife Wilma; sister-in-law, Pat Greene, and husband Richard; niece, April Kennedy; and three nephews, Jerry Bethea, Mike Greene, and Jeff Greene.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and Lois Hood; one sister, Nelda Faye Hood; son, Kevin Hood; grandson, Daniel Wooten; and granddaughters, Caitlin Wooten and Jennifer Hood.

Bearers are Mike Greene, Jeff Greene, Jerry Bethea, Joseph Schanz, Phillip Vogt, and Travis Hamby.
