Lefty Shahan

Services for Alvin Carol Shahan (Lefty), 77, of Fitzhugh, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Shahan passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Born June 4 ^th , 1940, he was the son of Alfred C. Shahan and Maurine Farmer Shahan. He was a graduate of Fitzhugh High School and attended East Central University on a basketball scholarship.

Carol married Barbara Hillman Jan. 29, 1960. He led a long career as a Marketing Supervisor for Koch Oil before retiring to become a rancher in Fitzhugh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara (Hillman) Shahan; his daughter, Cindy Cabler and husband, Clyde Cabler of Cleburne, TX; his two granddaughters, Megan Cabler and Krystle Day and her husband, Justin Day; two great –granddaughters, Allie Day and Jae Kody Day; and many other close friends and family.

He is preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Paul Shahan and Harold Shahan; and a sister, Jean Turner.

He led a long, fulfilled life and will truly be missed by many.
