ALVIN H. DRAKE

ALLEN-Services for Alvin H. Drake, 86, Allen, are 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, Revs. Buddy Drake and Orvel Romine officiating. Burial follows at the Allen Cemetery with the Masonic Lodge conducting Masonic rites. Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Criswell Chapel in Allen from 4:00 P.M. Tuesday until service time.

Mr. Drake died on Friday, January 30, 2009, at an Allen nursing home. He was born May 3, 1922, at Jennings, Oklahoma, to Carl Edward and Jane Elizabeth Barnes Drake. He graduated from Jennings High School and his family moved to Allen about 1959 from Cushing, Oklahoma.

He married Stella Mae Patton on October 30, 1943. She preceded him in death June 26, 1997 at Allen. Mr. Patton retired from Sun Oil Company as a gauger. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of Allen Lodge #81 AF & AM.

Survivors include a son, Rev. Buddy Drake and his wife Janice, Allen; a daughter, Pat Howry and her husband Dell, Allen; a sister, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Tulsa; four grandchildren, Crystal Huffstutlar and her husband Jerry; Sierra Howry and her husband Dean Monroe; Autumn Drake; and Misty Wooldridge and her husband Corey; and six great grandchildren.

Bearers are Jerry Huffstutlar, Dean Monroe, Corey Wooldridge, Melvin Margerum, Louis Jarrett, and Frank Griffin. Honorary bearers will be Elmo Cross, Eugene Sanders, Harold Mitchell, Steve Dobbins, Harold Akin, J. B. Owens, Coy West, Frank "Red" Huffstutlar, and Donnie Huffstutlar.
