LOWETA SKAGGS
ADA-Services for Loweta A. Skaggs, 97, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate.
Mrs. Skaggs died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born November 26, 1913 near Eufaula in Haskell County, Oklahoma to William H. and Bertha Myers Pruitt. She attended school in Jasper, Arkansas and moved to Oklahoma in 1933.
She married William John Skaggs on August 3, 1931. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1994. Mrs. Skaggs was a sales clerk for F. W. Woolworth until her retirement and later she was a sales clerk for J. C. Penney Stores. She was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include a daughter, Willeena Smith and husband Bill, Ada; a son, John Harold Skaggs and wife Marilyn, Springfield, VA; one sister, Nadine Baldwin, Ada; one brother, Dexter Pruitt and his wife Yvonne, Ada; three granddaughters, Jan Kirkes and husband Gus, Norman, Becky Smith and husband Greg, Laurel, Maryland, and Reneé Sirulnik and husband Scott, Germantown, Maryland; and two great grandchildren, Ryan Sirulnik and Andrew Sirulnik.
