ALMA STEWART
FITZHUGH-Services for Alma Mae Stewart, 97, Fitzhugh, are 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fitzhugh Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Wilburn officiating. Burial follows at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart died on Monday, August 18, 2008, at her home. She was born January 24, 1911, at Shady Grove community near Vanoss to Jack and Alma Wagnon Dunn. She attended school at Lightning Ridge and Fitzhugh schools and was a homemaker. She was a longtime active member of Fitzhugh Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She married Earl E. Stewart on November 15, 1930. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1998.
Survivors include one son, Earl Stewart Jr. and wife Carol, Fitzhugh; one daughter, Phyllis Belt and husband Doug, Stratford; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen Crawford, Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mamie Solomon and Naomi Stanfield; and two brothers, John Dunn and Charley Dunn.
Bearers are Dub Tolliver, Joe Bradshaw, Charles Morrow, Don Boatright, Mitchell Priest and Joey Morrow.
