Services for Alma Faye Sanders Daniel, 82, of Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery near Tupelo. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Daniel passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home. She was born October 16, 1934 south of Tupelo to Sam and Myrtle Thompson Sanders. She attended Eureka grade school, south of Tupelo and attended Tupelo High School. She had lived in Lawton for 20 years and moved back to Stonewall in 1979.
She married Leonard Daniel July 21, 1961 in Tupelo. Mrs. Daniel was a homemaker, helped on the family farm and also worked at a day care.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard, of the home; her children, Ricky Ellis, Pam King and husband Gary, Barry Ellis, Tammy Latimer and husband Brian, Tom Daniel and wife Sharyl and Kim Lackey and husband Gary; her grandchildren, Angela, Jenny, Beth and Ben Ellis, Heather Mendez, Carey Whaley and husband Justin, Kelly Stokes and husband Taylor, Tori Deck and finance, Zach Lankford, Zach Caldwell and wife Lisa, Tobie Jones and husband Matt, Jonathan Daniel, Bradianne Roberson and husband Trey, Shelby Davis and husband Trevor and Trent Lackey; 13 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Jack, Herbert, Audie and Jerry, all of Tupelo, Glenn of Stratford; and a sister, Beverly White of Tupelo; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Nola Daniel of Stonewall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two baby sisters; a grandson, Chad Ellis; and a favorite dog, Daisy.
Bearers will be her grandson, Zach Caldwell, Jonathan Daniel, Trent Lackey, Taylor Stokes, Zach Lankford, Matt Jones, Trey Roberson and Trevor Davis. Honorary bearers will be Glenn McDonald, R. V. Brady, Victor Bolen, John Treat, Randy Davison, J. R. Thomas, Audie Sanders and Jack Blair.
