ADA-Services for Aline C. Wood, 93, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Joe Dixon will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at her home. She was born September 16, 1917 near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, in a community known as "Seven Shooter" to Eugene and Eva Lee Richardson Cook. For the following twelve years the family lived in Pauls Valley. She attended grade school at Jefferson School in the east part of town and graduated from Pauls Valley High School.
She married Orville D. Wood on October 29, 1943 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death December 22, 2008. During World War II, she worked at the Wiley Post Airport and volunteered as a nurses' aid during the war. Mrs. Wood was a secretary at the First National Bank in Ada. The family moved to Lapel, Indiana in 1967 where she was a secretary and loan officer at Anderson Banking Company in Anderson, Indiana until retiring in 1982. She and her husband moved back to Ada in 1985. She was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church in Ada and a member of the Rebecca Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Ada Garden Club, the Garden Club in Lapel, Indiana, and the Lady Lions Club in Lapel, Indiana.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Beasley and her husband Ron of Ada, and Kay Jordan of Ada; four grandchildren, Ronnie Jordan and wife Dana, Norman, Shannon Cutler and husband Chris, Ada, Amy Arrington and husband Rob, Norman, and Jamie Phillips and wife Amanda, Sherman, TX; nine great grandchildren, Beau and Josh Jordan, Zac and Brandon Arrington, Kylie and Kennedi Cutler, Paige Phillips, and Kayla and Jake LaMack; one great great granddaughter, Madison Kay Jordan; and a brother, Jim Cook and wife Sherry, Firebaugh, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Eva Cook; and sisters, Bobbie Watts and Lorene Scruggs.
Bearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Ronnie Jordan, Jamie Phillips, Beau Jordan, Josh Jordan, Zac Arrington and Brandon Arrington.
