Graveside services for Alberta May Blackburn, 96, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rosedale Cemetery, Bill Adams will officiate.
Mrs. Blackburn passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at her home. She was born May 6, 1924 at Cushing, OK to Huey J. and Bertha May Dickey Johnson. She and her family moved to Ada when she was a child. She attended and graduated from Byng High School in 1942.
She married Billy V Blackburn December 31, 1945 in Ada. He preceded her in death March 16, 1992 in Ada. Mrs. Blackburn was a homemaker and a local historian. She enjoyed delving into Ada's past with her lifelong friend, Billie Floyd. Mrs. Blackburn was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Ted Blackburn and wife Lila of Bartlesville, and Bonita Blackburn of Ada; her grandchildren, Robert Jay Blackburn and wife Kerri, Guthrie, Kenneth Jay Blackburn and wife Heather, Sand Springs, Linda Faye Dolder and husband Neal, Durango, CO and Hayley Rae Coble, Falcon Heights, MN; her great-grandchildren, Anna May Blackburn, Connor Jay Blackburn, Blake V Blackburn, and Thomas Karl Blackburn, all of Guthrie; Jarrett Jay Blackburn, Jace Nolan Blackburn and Jayla Renee Blackburn, all of Sand Springs; Kenzie Jewell Dolder and Audrey Catherine Dolder, Durango, CO; and cousins, Roger Burns, Ada and Olen Johnson, Olathe, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Billy V Blackburn; two brothers, H.J. Johnson and Donald Johnson; a step-brother, Raymond Johnson; and step-sister, Lucille Blackburn.
