Alan Monroe Waters was born on May 11, 1937 in Wynnewood, OK to Monroe and Ethel Waters.
He graduated from Ada High in 1955. He married Mary Lynn Jumper, and together they built a family.
Never afraid of hard work, Alan worked many jobs through the years, eventually owning a trucking company and retiring from Brockway glass where he made many lifelong friends. After retirement, he worked part time driving for Call-a-ride, a job he found very fulfilling. He loved to hunt fish and camp, and he was an avid bowler in his younger years. He also loved traveling with his wife Mary. He was a member of Ada First Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed the close friends in his Sunday school class. However, Alan's main passion was family.
Alan is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Janet Humphrey, and her husband, Steve; daughter, Julie White, and husband, Glenn; two brothers, Earl Waters and Larry Waters; brother-in-law, Woody Jumper.
Alan and Mary have five grandchildren: Stephanie Dixon and husband Darren, Kellie Greenhaw and husband Austin, Kelsy Eidson and husband Derick, Brady Dowd (deceased) and Alani Waters. They have seven great grandchildren, London and Brooklyn Dixen, Blake, Sam, and Jax Greenhaw, Deacon, and Taylor Eidson.
Allen was pre-deceased by his son Alan "Rusty" Waters, Jr.; parents Ethel and Monroe Waters; two sisters, Allene Love and Donna Waters; Brother-in-law John Fred Jumper; sisters-in-law June Wyckoff and Billy Goodall; beloved mother-in-law, Adelle Shoptaugh and grandson Brady Dowd.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 2 PM at Criswell Funeral Home.
