AGNES JONES

ADA-Services for Agnes Cleo Patton Jones, 97, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Stonewall First Baptist Church, Revs. Gary Jamar and Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Stonewall.

Mrs. Jones died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at a Norman hospital. She was born April 22, 1913 at Frisco, Oklahoma to Jonathan Franklin and Ethel Candas Hoyle Voyles. She attended Frisco and Stonewall schools.

She married Simon Estel Patton on December 24, 1942 in Coalgate. He died July 26, 1970 in the Frisco community. She moved to Ada on April 22, 1971 and worked as a Food Services Supervisor at East Central University for five years. She later married Ernie Claud Jones on August 16, 1977 in McAlester. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1994 in Ada. Mrs. Jones worked as a Dinner/Pastry Cook at Valley View Regional Hospital Cafeteria for seven years and she was a longtime member of the Stonewall First Baptist Church since 1948.

Survivors are numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren including Michael Weaver and wife Susan, Sue Scrivner and husband Jim, Leroy Patton and wife Barbara, Shirla Sweat and husband Lee, Thomas "Pat" Daniel, and Jack Daniel.

Bearers will be Lee Sweat, Jim Scrivner, Michael Weaver, Rev. David Daniel, Thomas (Pat) Daniel, and Jack L. Daniel. Honorary bearers will be the Deacons of the Stonewall First Baptist Church.
